| J. Clinton Shepherd was born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1888. His art studies were extensive, having attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Fine Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. A painter, illustrator, and sculptor of western subjects, Shepherd exhibited extensively in the east, and in Florida, where he died in 1975. For more information on J.
